Informational resource only — hardonbase does not sell products or manage client funds.

An independent voice in personal finance education

hardonbase was founded to give people a place to learn how money actually works, free of product pitches. We are based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and publish for an international, English-reading audience.

Our story

Started by people tired of confusing financial content

hardonbase began in 2019 as a small collection of internal notes written to help friends and family make sense of budgeting basics. Readers kept asking for more, so the notes became structured guides, and the guides became this website.

We are not a bank, a brokerage, or a financial planning firm. We do not manage investments, open accounts, or take commissions from any provider. Our only product is clear explanation.

What guides us

Editorial principles we hold ourselves to

No sponsored placement

We do not accept payment to recommend a bank, product or service, and this site does not sell paid services of any kind.

Plain language first

If a concept needs jargon to explain, we try again until it doesn't. Technical terms are defined the first time they appear.

Regularly reviewed

Guides are periodically checked against current publicly available information and updated when something changes materially.
